At Compostable Goods, we are committed to enhancing personal and environmental health through the promotion of biodegradable and compostable products. These items can eventually replenish and rebuild soil health at the end of their useful life. A fortunate consequence is the decreased environmental footprint during production and disposal, and a more natural product for people and pets.
Our company was largely inspired by the cradle-to-cradle principle, meaning that our products can be considered "biological nutrients" that can re-enter the environment without releasing synthetic chemicals or toxins. In addition to avoiding the grave (landfill), our products are still useful and valuable at the end of their life as precursors to compost, which supports soil and plant health. This Zero Waste approach reduces the negative effects of waste on people, the environment, and the climate.
We offer items that are either certified compostable, identified as biodegradable by the manufacturer, or made of biodegradable materials disclosed by the manufacturer. These items reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and lessen environmental contamination from the disposal of plastics and other non-biodegradable substances. We are committed to providing you with accurate information and offering you an expanding assortment of compostable and biodegradable products to match your environmental standards and to fit your lifestyle.
Compostable Goods considers the environment in all of our practices. We are located in Williston, Vermont, and source our products as close to home as possible. We attempt to minimize packaging, aiming for any necessary packaging to be compostable, recycled and recyclable. We purchase our electricity from renewable sources and obtain much of our hot water through our solar hot water system (yes, even in Vermont!). Our company errands are made in a hybrid vehicle. Carbon emissions resulting from our operations, including receiving goods from suppliers and sending packages to our customers, are offset through our purchase of carbon offsets from NativeEnergy.
